My name is Marisol Rodriguez-Deluna I am a mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, sister, and friend. I am also someone living with IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). IPF is a disease that causes scarring to the lungs with no known cause making it eventually difficult to breathe. I have been living with this disease since childhood but only over the past couple of years did it really begin to affect me and my life. During the years there was always talk of the possibility for a lung transplant as there is no cure for IPF. However, a possibility has turned into my reality and I was put on the donor list a week ago. After being put on the list we had the expectation of at least a two month wait but I am so blessed to say that on August 31, 2023 I was called and informed my new lungs would be ready for me. With such an intense surgery it will definitely be a journey to recovery. While I am thankful insurance will help it unfortunately will not cover it all. Any donations will be used for medical expenses such as medication, transportation, possible medical equipment, and any medical bills.
