Lloyd (aka LLoydy), a Legend and a Larrikin.
Lloydy had just clocked 20 years of loyal service with AMES, starting in the Northcote Pottery Sydney warehouse in February 1999, he wandered in one day looking for work, 5 minutes later he was hand unloading a container of pots and he never left.
Shockingly sudden and absolutely devastatingly, Lloyd went home after his shift on Tuesday 7th May and suffered a heart attack which he didn’t survive.
Without a doubt the love of Lloyd's life was his amazing wife Therese, who everyone knew he lovingly referred to as Lovey and would call her on his break every day to check in and make sure her day was going well. A true love story.
But with the size of Lloyds heart, he also had room for AMES, and he truly LOVED working for us. The word loyal just isn’t enough to explain his passion and happiness in going to work every day. He proudly wore a Northcote Pottery cap every day and it is Therese’s wish that Lloydy is laid to rest in his favourite outfit – his AMES uniform.
Within 24 hours of his passing, there had already been 100’s of stories and laughs shared throughout the AMES family, remembering this larrikin in so many unforgettable ways.
As we plan to say our final goodbye and honour our Lloydy, we would like to give everyone the opportunity to contribute to the celebration of Lloyds life. AMES was his family.
Please give generously as every cent will be truly deserving of the legend that was Lloyd Smith!
