Leslie Rodriguez, a 27-year-old single mother of two, was involved in a physical dispute with her then-boyfriend, Ynez Spencer, when he struck her several times before slicing or stabbing her upper leg. Spencer then proceeded to pour a flammable substance on her before igniting it and exiting the house.

Leslie is now in the hospital suffering from serious bodily injuries due to the severity of the stab wound on her upper-left leg, as well as the permanent disfiguring burns over her face and upper body. Besides her injuries, Leslie and her children lost their home and all their belongings in the fire.
