To our friends and family,
As you may or may not already know, my mom Lauren Millette was diagnosed with stage 4 Hepatosplenic Lymphoma last year. This disease is a very rare and extremely aggressive form of blood cancer. The second half of 2016, and 2017 thus far has proven to be the fight of her life. It's been a fight that has required every ounce of strength and perseverance that she could muster. Though her smile, her positive attitude and eagerness to heal have remained ever strong!
Her time generally consists of 4-5 days of doctors appointments or chemotherapy treatments per week, followed by two days of bed rest. Recently, after several months of battling, we recieved news that her levels are climbing and her cells seem to be reacting. As this is excellent news, mom is not out of the woods yet. She still has a ways to go. We expect she'll progress and heal to 100 percent, she wouldn't have it any other way!
Many of you know her as mom, friend, sister, listening ear, teacher, and also reporter. No matter the title, we all know her aptitude towards helping the community. We all know her inspiration has always been love for others. In this time, we find ourselves asking as a family for your love.
We ask for prayers, warm wishes, positive energy, or anything you can contribute. Iv created this opportunity for giving, as mom has found herself in need of other's assistance. As a family, we have held things together pretty well - but as expected, have fallen short in some areas. She needs help in many ways in this difficult time. All assistance of any kind will be greatly accepted and appreciated.
Mom's vehicle is one step away from failing, she could use some help from a good mechanic. Or im sure she would be happy to use a vehicle that you no longer need. Transportation to and from treatments would also be of great help, if ever you have the time. Any and all grocery items would serve as a warm contribution. Any monetary assistance would be applied directly to a massive influx of medical bills and backed up utility bills - which at this time, threaten to be the worst challenge we have to face. Even a friendly phone call would help mom quite a bit. Any way you feel inspired to contribute, will be graciously welcomed.
Mom means the world to so many of us. I ask of you, now is the time that we all come together. Mom and the family thank each and every one of you for all that you do and have done for her.
