For Larry Thompson Battling Embolism and Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Dom Thompson. I am the grandson of Larry Thompson and Sherry Thompson, who adopted me out if the gratitude of their own hearts. Personally I couldn’t ask for better parents and role models. (I am doing this without them finding out, I’m sure they will find out soon however I don’t think they would accept money from others.)

Larry is a family man who cares about me and his wife more than anything in the world. Well maybe that is other than work at Benchmark Cabinets where he has worked his butt off for over 40 years and continues to.

His Story: It all started off in 2020 when he had some pain in his back and bladder. He went to the doctor to get it checked out as anyone would, and found out he had kidney stones. But with the X-rays it also showed a growth in his bladder. So eventually that was all taken care of and it was all good. He had monthly or so check ups and it was no problem for awhile. Earlier this year in 2023 he found out that it was just going to keep coming back and spread to the rest of his body if he didn’t receive chemotherapy. Since we live in Mount Vernon, his doctor (whom I will not say the name of) told him he could not treat him anymore because he did not have health insurance. But Larry signed a contract with the dr. stating he would stay with him. He needed treatment so he got forwarded to a doctor at The James OSU. Then his doctor claimed he broke policy and began taking money from his paycheck, and still does to this day.

Treatment
He then was able to get his treatment which was chemo every 2 weeks for 8-10 weeks straight. All went well, yeah obviously sometimes he didn’t feel all too good but he was fine and recovered relatively quickly off of the Chemo. Then came a after-chemo CAT scan to see whether or not any tumors or unusual growths remained. There ended up being no tumors remaining. But a few weeks back due to the chemo his leg swelled up and he got a blood clot on his leg and was given blood thinners. The CAT scan he took yesterday didn’t show any growths but it did show a clot in his lungs… So now we wait and we pray that the blood thinners do what they need to do. So he can prepare for his bladder removal surgery in January.

Please Share This Wherever you Can and Keep Him in Your Prayers.

Anything is appreciated and all donations will go to Larry Thompson.

The Donations will go towards: Surgery Bills, Pharmaceuticals, Bills/Medical in General.

Update 11/21/2023: I said in the post that it did not show any new growths… however yesterday his doctor called and told us how the chemo did not contain the cancer and shrink it. It actually may of become a little bigger in his bladder.
