For Kenneth, For His Mom
Donation protected
After years of separation, my friend Trudy was recently reunited with her long-lost son, Kenneth—a moment of hope after years of heartbreak. At just 39 years old, Kenneth had faced immense struggles with mental health, violence, and addiction. Despite medical advice to place him in long-term care, she saw a spark in his eyes—a will to live—and chose to stand by him, becoming his caregiver and source of stability.
Over the past two years, she gave everything she had to support Kenneth’s recovery: selling anything of value, cashing in her RRSPs, and putting her own needs aside to help him find a sense of normalcy and dignity. She poured her heart, soul, and finances into giving Kenneth another chance at life. He was succeeding, got his license, was happy, and became employed.
Tragically, Kenneth passed away unexpectedly just a few days into his new employment. While funeral costs were generously covered by his employer, she is facing serious financial hardship, struggling to meet her own basic needs while actively seeking work and using available community resources.
We are asking for support to give a grieving mother a chance to stabilize after losing both her child and the material means she sacrificed to care for him. Your kindness will help ease a small part of a burden she carries every day. Thank you for considering a donation, no matter how small—it truly means the world.
