My friends, my family, dearest and distant - this is the last thing I hoped I would have to do.

I fundraise at this time on behalf of my father, Keith Bassam, who passed away at home on Sunday, August 20, 2023, after a battle with cancer that spanned over 20 years.

My father's body has been waiting at the funeral home in North Vancouver for the last 10 days, while I move through the needful tasks of putting him to rest. I have implored the company to allow me to pay the bill for their services in installments. Unfortunately, it is not within their policies to allow families the accommodation of flexibility, and progress on the return of my father to me is entirely on hold until the funds are received in full. After a week of exhausting the possible solutions available to me, I find myself without the financial resources to cremate my father, as were his wishes.

In memory and gratitude of the life of my father, Keith Bassam, I ask for support to put him to peaceful rest and bring him home - and I do so with sadness and regret.
