For Kauryn Rose: A Young Life Changed by Violence

On the night of July 20th, what was supposed to be a fun birthday celebration turned into a nightmare. My 15-year-old sister, Kauryn Rose, was shot in the chest and pelvis while attending a party in Harris County that suddenly turned violent. Gunfire erupted, and Kauryn, an innocent bystander, was critically injured.

She was life-flighted to the hospital in critical condition. By the grace of God, she survived. But her journey to recovery will be long, painful, and incredibly difficult. Kauryn is currently being treated for her injuries, and our family is focused on giving her every possible chance to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally. The trauma she has endured is unimaginable, and we are doing everything we can to support her through it.

My name is Kaylee, and I am Kauryn’s older sister. I created this fundraiser on behalf of Kauryn and our family. We are a close, supportive unit, and I’m helping to coordinate this effort so that our parents can focus completely on being there for her.

We are asking for support from our community to help cover the growing costs of emergency medical care, multiple surgeries, hospital stays, rehabilitation, trauma counseling, and day-to-day needs like transportation and lost wages for family members who are caring for her full time. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, will help ease the financial burden and allow us to focus on what matters most: Kauryn’s recovery.

All funds raised will be transferred directly to Taria Andrews, our mother, who has been added as the official beneficiary of this fundraiser. She will receive the funds directly in her account and use them to cover all of Kauryn’s care and related expenses.

Kauryn is so much more than a victim. She’s a fighter. She’s sweet, smart, funny, and full of life. She’s a passionate athlete who runs track, plays flag football and basketball, and absolutely loves to dance. She gives 110 percent in everything she does, whether it’s school, sports, or being there for the people she loves. Her coaches and teammates say she’s one of the most driven and dependable people they’ve ever met. She lifts up everyone around her and leads by example.

She didn’t deserve this. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But we know how strong she is, and we are standing with her every step of the way. Our family is devastated, but we are hopeful. We believe in Kauryn’s strength, and we are praying for justice, peace, and healing.
