My name is Makayla Ruiz. My sister, Madison Ruiz, recently ended her battle with cancer. For anyone following her journey, you know it was a long, hard battle.
Madison never gave up. She was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma (bone cancer) in 2020. Over the past 5 years, she has gone through rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. She had her leg amputated and many surgeries throughout her battle. She had to relearn to walk and navigate her life.
Over the past 6 months, the doctors told her that the cancer had spread all throughout her stomach and lungs and there were not any more treatments for her.
Throughout her entire journey, the one thing she worried about the most was her son, Junior. She went through so many treatments and did whatever the doctors said because her biggest fear was leaving her young son. Madison spent every day with Junior, teaching him, laughing with him, and caring for him.
Before Madison’s passing, she just asked that Junior was taken care of.
So we are asking for donations in my sister's memory to help support her son’s future since she will not be here to send him off to Kindergarten and beyond.
All donations will go directly to Junior’s expenses and be put into a fund for his future, from his mommy.
