Remembering Joseph Snode - Funeral and Memorial

Donation protected
Joseph was tragically killed in a road accident on 28th January 2024 in New Zealand, leaving behind his loving parents, his Sister whom he was very close to, his girlfriend and many many friends.

Joseph had studied at University and graduated with a first class Honours Degree, after which he worked hard for four years at Buckingham University as the Events and Venue Manager to save money for his dream to put his backpack on and travel the world and take photos. During that time he also worked many festivals including Glastonbury seeing Elton John last year 2023. Joseph was always full of life and a loving, caring, intelligent young man and everywhere he went me made friends who he kept in touch with.

On 28th Sept 2023 his dream came true and with a group of friends he started his first stint of his travels to Japan. He was so happy, meeting new friends and taking photos of his travels and the people he'd met. He even met his soul mate and she joined him on his travels.

Joseph arrived in New Zealand in early January, a place that was special to his family being Lord of the Rings fans. He had a wonderful few days staying with a friend he'd met previously on his travels that had invited him to stay. Then he visited Hobbiton and other LOTR sites and had a few days hiking on his own along the Abel Tasman Coast Track. We had no idea these magical days were to be his final days in NZ. He was given a lift in a car to Christchurch that crashed, killing him instantly, the other occupants had minor injuries.

Nothing can express the pain and despair that is being felt by his family and friends all over the world. Joseph had so many plans for his future and he was literally living his dream life before it was taken from him.

Joseph's insurance covers his repatriation, but doesn't cover any furneral or memoral costs. We thought long and hard about doing this page, but we have been approached by people wanting to help with these costs and that is the reason for this page.

Joseph was one in a Billion and we are helped by hearing all the wonderful stories and seeing the photos his many friends around the world are sharing with us.

Please do not feel you need to give if you're not able to. Just sharing Joseph's stories and photos is enough.

Hearing from his friends is one thing that is keeping us going. Joseph was so full of life and love for living that we want that to continue through all he knew.

We plan on having a short funeral serivce once he's been repatriated and then a bigger happier memorial service that we hope all his friends will help take part in to celebrate Joseph. Thank you again x
