For Jon, Who Gave Freely and Asked for Nothing

As many of you know, my beloved brother Jon Sund passed away peacefully on July 13th after a short battle with cancer. He was just shy of his 46th birthday.

Jon was the kind of person who never asked for anything. Gentle, quiet, and always willing to lend a hand, he gave of himself freely—whether it was helping with yard work, fixing something around the house, or simply showing up when someone needed support. He was self-employed in recent years, didn’t have life insurance, and lived simply with few possessions.

Because of how quickly everything happened, our family wasn’t fully prepared for the financial burden that comes with end-of-life expenses. We are raising funds to help offset the cost of Jon’s funeral and memorial service, so we can honor him the way he deserves and focus on grieving and celebrating his life.

Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.

—With gratitude,
Ruthie McDonald & Family
