Update: We are regretfully informing everyone that JK has unfortunately lost his battle to Cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he took his last breaths early yesterday morning, 10/3/23. Thank you everyone for all your kind words, prayers, and life memories shared about our beloved dad and loving husband, JK. Though his departure was quick and urgent from this Earth, the impact he left on so many of us will be sure to last a lifetime.
Hi, we are the Koreski and Vega family. We are fundraising for my dad, Jeffry Koreski (JK, as most people know him). JK is the hardest grinder in life that we know, dedicating over 40 yrs. to the flood restoration profession for multiple companies throughout various states, including running his own business for several years. At the age of 65, he still grinded away working for Stanley Steemer, climbing into attics and all!
He worked right up until the day he went in for a routine benign lipoma removal in early July. This routine procedure turned out to be anything BUT routine. After the procedure, vital signs, symptoms, and blood work were all out of whack for JK. He had to stay in the hospital to get things figured out. Many tests were ran, the news came back…. Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer. With more testing and more days in the hospital, we found more news, the cancer metastasized to his liver and bones. After an exhausting and lengthy stay in the hospital, (26 days) full of pokes and procedures, he was sent home to gather the strength for chemotherapy. JK spent about a month at home doing all he could to get stronger for us.
About 3 weeks ago JK had to go back into the hospital. He had a blood clot in his right lung. And there he was, stuck in there once more. With the family’s support, JK was still fighting as hard as he could, trying rehabilitation and taking doctor’s orders.
We would love for his body to be up for the fight as much as his mind and spirit are, it just isn’t quite the case.
None of us were ready for this, especially JK.
Today, we all surround him with love, admiration, respect and honor as we face the end of his cancer fighting journey.
Not only is JK the hardest grinder we all know, he is also a great dad, a great Papa, a great brother, an overall great person to know. We are so fortunate to have spent these years with such a great guy; Jeffry Logan Koreski.
Please help us help him by donating to his cause. Donations will help with his costly medical bills and the life changes we will soon face. One of the most important roles our dad has always approached with no questions, is taking care of our mom. And he's done so for 46 years now. Any amount raised will help us do our best to fill his shoes and continue to support our mom through the difficulties that come her way with this life changing event.
