Jill Conrad would like absolutely nobody to worry about her. She doesn't want you to feel like she's struggling, she doesn't want me to write this, and she absolutely has not agreed to have people feel bad for her.

However, I told her that if she didn't want me to make this fundraiser, she could write me a full letter and drive it over to Salem and I would relent. But she can't. Cause she had a stroke. So here we are.

To know Jill is to love Jill. If you have ever had the ultimate privilege to sit in her space, you know what it's like to be seen and unconditionally unaccepted. And now, it would be time for everyone that loves Jill to become a tribe that supports her as she faces a nightmare.

On Tuesday, September 30th, Jill had an ischemic stroke. In summary, she had a blood clot in her brain that resulted in blocked blood supply to her occipital lobe. Subsequently, her eyesight has been significantly impacted. Her left eye is very fuzzy and her peripheral vision is also reduced.

Doctors have discovered a hole in her heart that allowed the blood clot to travel to the brain. This may require repair to avoid any further stroke. She is scheduled for further work up for neurology, cardiology, and ophthalmology.

She is a hot mess. Officially.

Our friend, family, co-worker, sister, daughter and mother is down and out. Don't tell her I said that. She can't read right now, so I feel like I'm in the clear.

Jill is a single mother and a therapist. She is supposed to be on bed rest, but no single mother can ever be on bed rest. And no therapist can ever work while recovering from a stroke (literally this week).

And I think I speak for all of the planet when I submit that nobody can recover from a stroke while being stressed about money.

So here I am, asking for help for our friend who would never. If you could please consider helping Jill, it would mean so much. If she could pay her mortgage and not try to return to work too soon, her brain could rest. And maybe, just maybe....she could heal.

Thank you so much for considering.
