If you went to Jordan High or are from the Long Beach/Lakewood area perhaps you knew Jerome.....Jerome became ill with Covid-19 shortly before Christmas. He had to be admitted to the hospital on 12/23/20 due to Covid pneumonia and he ended up needing to be intubated shortly thereafter. He was on a ventilator for 7 weeks and during that time suffered several episodes of lung collapse due to lung blebs which resulted in pneumothorax initially "fixed" by way of surgery. His heart and organs were all still doing fine and his family and friends prayed often daily while he was ill and hospitalized. We were all very hopeful because his heart and organs remained strong and he'd been fighting for nearly 2 months. Unfortunately he suffered cardiac arrest the evening of 2/22/2021 and medical staff were unable to bring him back.  More recently in life, Jerome had turned to The Way OUT Ministry in Hawaiian Gardens for guidance in finding God and had aspired to become a pastor in order to help others in spiritual need. Like many Jerome and family had already been substantially hit financially due to Covid as well as other life setbacks and his wife Kathy, daughter Tara, son Sean, and other family members are in need of assistance with funeral costs, yet unknown medical expenses due to 2 mos of hospitalization, as well as what other financial needs come with such situations. I know that we've so many in need in our country and I know that sharing a GoFundMe page on your FB or IG page isn't always comfortable but I wouldn't be asking if the need wasn't great. A little bit can go a long way and make a huge difference when many chip it. I wouldn't be asking if there wasn't a great need for assistance. Please help me get the word out and allow others the opportunity to be of service and to let Jerome's family know that there is much kindness left in this world and that people are still very willing to help others in need.
