For Jem and Eureka

Hi, my name is Carr, and I've started this fundraiser to help my beautiful friend Kelsie. To say 2023 has had a tough start would be an understatement, to those who have had the pleasure of meeting her pup Jem and sweet cat, Eureka.

Jem and Eureka are both rescue pets from the SPCA. Eureka 14 years ago and Jem 8 years ago. Unfortunately, on Jan 1st, 2023, Jem had to be rushed to the ICU Canada West for an intestinal issue, which ended up in emergency surgery. This was followed by 3 days in the ICU with plasma transfusion where Jem fought so hard. They even ran out of plasma and Jem's dad, Jordan, drove to Washington to get more.

Even with the best efforts of the team at Canada West, Jem was too weak from the surgery and Kelsie and Jordan has to say their goodbyes to their baby.

Two weeks after Jem's passing, Eureka had a stroke and had to be rushed to the same ICU. She also had to stay overnight but she was able to come home the next day. Eureka was diagnosed with congenital heart issues, cardiomyopathy, and kidney disease. This is the first major incident for Eureka in her 14 years with Kelsie. Eureka will now need constant care and checkups.

While Kelsie has pet insurance, the cost of Jem's surgery, stay in ICU and passing has amounted to well more than insurance can cover. With Eureka's diagnosis on top of that, we are looking to raise $15,000 to help cover costs.

Kelsie and Jordan did everything they could for Jem until the very end of her short life, and Kelsie will continue to provide the necessary care for Eureka. So I would love to be able to share their story and see if we can help out in any way we can.
