Hami is a quiet and respected man — someone who has lived his life with old-school values of loyalty, kindness, and respect. He’s always been the one to keep the vibe strong, holding space for family and friends with a calm presence.
Hami’s journey with cancer has been long and courageous.
In 2008, he was first diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. After many years of battling and enduring treatment, he went into remission — only to be faced with another devastating diagnosis in 2020: multiple myeloma. The past several years have been incredibly tough on him and those who love him.
Today, Hami has entered palliative care.
While we don’t have a clear timeline ahead of us, our priority is to keep our family close, create space for precious moments together, and remove as much financial stress as possible during this final chapter. We are now preparing for the inevitable costs of saying goodbye in New Zealand.
Your donation will go directly towards:
- Funeral and end-of-life expenses
- Travel and accommodation costs for close family to be with Hami
- Time off work to allow us to be present in these final days
We are not usually the ones to ask for help — but after many years of fighting this battle, the emotional and financial toll has been immense. Times are tough, and we’re leaning on our wider community to help carry us through.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for any support you can give. Your kindness means more than we can ever express.
— Hami’s Family
