Dear Families—
Erica and Franco Scaramuzza have had one of their three children enrolled at Green Hills Child Development almost continuously since we opened in 2011. Their family, friends and professional network took root primarily in Germany, before their move to Nashville. This means that as this dear couple and their children, known to many of you and your children, go through a health crisis and all that it entails, the families with any connection to Green Hills Child represent a major component of the support system they need in their life right now.
Since October, Erica has been recovering from having suffered a significant stroke. Medical bills and other financial consequences aside, with the difficult season otherwise apparently nearing an end, by this spring she was able to return to work. Then, last week, she had a major setback, though it is not clear how closely related it is to what happened last fall. Here’s an update from Franco:
“Dear friends and family. Just an update on what’s going on. On Monday, May 6th, Erica was at choir rehearsal when she suffered a seizure and hit her head on the stone floor of the church. Her choir called 911 and she was taken to St Thomas hospital where she was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma (brain bleed) and was admitted to the ICU. She suffered 4 more seizures while in the hospital. Erica was discharged on Thursday for lack of rooms and we’re now back at St Thomas ER in an effort to get some answers. Her symptoms have not improved. We’re overwhelmed by the outpouring of generous love and support and can hardly express our gratitude.”
This GoFundMe (and Meal Train calendar - please see our Facebook page for both links) are for this beloved family that means a lot to the Green Hills Child Development and Christ the King communities. Together we can ease the burden as their family goes through a difficult time, so that before long Erica will be able to do the things she loves as a mother. She has three beautiful children and a wonderful husband that are with her every step of the way, but as you can imagine, extra help is needed. We know the Scaramuzzas would not hesitate to help another family in need, thus, we felt led to reach out a helping hand and invite more help on their behalf.
If you can sign up for a meal or make a monetary donation, we know they will be grateful! Lastly, we ask that you pray boldly for God to provide the strength, guidance, wisdom, patience, and resources that Franco and Erica will need as their family traverses these unknown waters.
How you can help:
+ Like, Share and Pray.
+ Meal Train. Sign up to provide a meal on an unclaimed night.

“It will take all of eternity to celebrate what God’s people accomplish by responding to the call of the Holy Spirit on their lives.”—Ray Ortulund, Jr.
If you feel called to help with this, on behalf of the Scaramuzzas, our friends at Christ the King, and everyone at Green Hills Child, thank you.
