Danielle Clark Martin has been a best friend to me for over 20 years. She is the heartbeat of our world — the one who turns ordinary moments into safe places, the one whose presence makes life feel a little more bearable, a little more beautiful, even on the hardest days.

In September 2019, Dani was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. For five years she has met every treatment — chemo, radiation, surgery, every hospital room, every moment of uncertainty — with a kind of courage that teaches everyone around her what real strength looks like. Recently, her doctors shared devastating news: the cancer is progressing, and if she stops chemotherapy, her time may be limited.

Through all of this, Dani has continued to pour love into the people who make up her world — her sister, her brother, her niece, her devoted husband Chris, her beautiful loyal friends and her two dogs, Freddie and Ollie, who never leave her side. She carries us with a kind of tenderness that feels spiritual, the kind that changes you simply by being close to her. And now, as she enters this chapter, it’s our turn to carry her.

This fundraiser is our love made visible, while she is here to witness it. The funds will help Dani live comfortably, ease the emotional and financial weight on Chris, cover daily needs, and hopefully create space for a special trip or some time together they so deeply deserve, away from work, away from the inside of their house. More than anything, we want her to experience beauty, comfort, and gentleness without worrying about the practicalities of life.
