Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
It is with sadness that we share the passing my father Noe Rivera Rivera, who recently concluded a courageous three-year battle with stage 4 ampullary cancer—a rare and aggressive illness. He spent his final days under hospice care, surrounded by love and family.
Throughout his life, my father was never one to seek attention. He wasn’t loud or showy. Instead, he led with quiet strength—rooted in his Mexican heritage and deep sense of duty. He believed in showing up, in helping others without hesitation, and in doing what was right without ever asking for recognition.
That spirit of service revealed itself in countless ways. He gave rides to elderly neighbors with no family, taking them to doctor’s appointments, the post office, or the airport. He once taught a newly arrived neighbor from Egypt how to drive. Neither of them spoke the same language—my father didn’t speak English, and the neighbor didn’t speak Spanish. To this day, I still don’t know how they communicated, but somehow, they did. That’s who he was: someone who bridged gaps through action, not words.
At home, he was just as devoted. From elementary school through high school, he picked me up every single day. I never had to walk home. He attended every school event, every award ceremony—especially when my mom was working and couldn’t be there. He stood quietly in the back, never making a scene, but always present, always proud.
One small daily ritual captured so much of who he was: his McDonald’s coffee. Even on the hardest days, that familiar cup brought him peace. It wasn’t just coffee—it was a moment of comfort and normalcy, a reflection of his quiet resilience and ability to find strength in simplicity. That cup became a symbol of his approach to life: steady, grounded, and enduring.
His love was firm, but it never wavered. That “tough love” shaped me in profound ways. Because of him, I graduated from high school. I went on to become the first in his family to graduate from college. And more importantly, I carry the values he lived by—perseverance, humility, curiosity, and a deep gratitude for the opportunities we’ve been given. Those values continue to guide my life and choices every single day.
As we prepare to lay him to rest, we’re asking for help to honor his life with the same care and dignity he gave to others every day. Your support will help cover:
• Funeral and memorial service expenses
• Burial or cremation arrangements
• Travel and gathering costs for family
• A tribute that reflects the quiet greatness of his life
Whether you’re able to donate or simply share this page, your support means more than we can say. Thank you for helping us celebrate and remember a man who gave so much without ever asking for anything in return.
With appreciation,
Stephanie Rivera & Family
I’m his daughter, and it’s been my greatest honor to walk beside him through every chapter of life.
