For Dad and the Dogs: A Tribute Run
Tax deductible
Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know we lost our Dad 3 years ago. He was still very young and lost a battle with lung cancer. Ironically he never smoked and would run ultramarathons ranging from 50-200 miles. I was with him and helped pace a few. In his honor I carry on the legacy but I stick closer to the 50 mile club. I’m not as crazy as he was. In his memory I will be running the Key West 50 next weekend. He would be doing the 100 if things didn’t get cut short. We would run normal marathons together and I would beat him easily, which he responded do you want to run back to the start and I’d always respond no as I was dead tired. When he retired in 2017 we had no clue what he was going to do as he never took a day off. His passion shifted to full time vonunteering at Amimal Friends where he helped walking and training dogs that were seen as unadoptable. This was his new purpose. Although I have no expectations as to how much money this will raise please know that every penny will go to these dogs in need at Animal Friends. I cannot guarantee a finish in this race but anything donated will go to help these dogs. I finished 2 years ago but “shit happens” as my dad would say.
