It is with broken hearts that we share that on October 11th we lost our precious Coley.
Coley was born October 19th, 1994 weighing only 1lb 9oz at 24 weeks. She proudly graduated high school with honors in 2012 and eagerly went straight to boot camp & AIT for the Army - something she had strived for her entire life. Her unbelievable drive and determination brought her to reach that goal and many to follow.
During her time in the service her left eye was severely injured which lead to an honorable discharge years later. She pushed through 5 vigorous eye surgeries, the 6th to completely remove the eye only weeks before her passing. With every job Coley gave everything she had with a smile. Everyone looked forward to her warm presence and infectious humor. Always asking a million questions eager to learn anything and everything she could to help others. Everything was an adventure ; never a complaint, no bias’. She threw herself into any opportunity she could find with excitement and pure joy.
Through the many adversities Coley faced in her short life, she always instinctually put others before herself. Feeding others when she didn’t have food, spending holidays volunteering, teaching, loving. Taking days that easily could have been selfishly spent being there for friends and family. Coley had an incredible way of making anyone smile with her quirky sense of humor and loving nature.
Family was immensely important to Coley, always reaching out to check on whoever needed help or just a hug. She leaves behind her loving Mother Debbra, adored younger sister Kimberly, oldest sister Samantha, beloved niece Natasha as well as treasured extended family. Pre-deceased by her Father, Gene.
To her family & friends that knew and loved her - Coleys gentle soul, bravery, strength, and endless optimism will forever be with us. Let it encourage us all to laugh a little longer, be a little kinder, and above all else Love with everything you have.
Through this immensely hard time any support for her family is appreciated beyond belief. Beyond end of life services, her sisters plan on launching a non profit in Coley’s name with ideas they had all previously discussed together.
A celebration of life will be held October 19th, 2019 - a day Coley was so looking forward to, as it would have been her 25th birthday.
