As just posted, there has been a lot of questions concerning Mike. He has been in the hospital at Cullman on the ventilator due to Covid for a few weeks now. His condition has been back and forth between good, bad and “okay”. He has also been in kidney failure. Unfortunately, his condition right now is back at bad. 2 days ago his temperature spiked a fever of 107 and they could not get it down for the longest until they finally did. Since then, they still have not been able to regulate it. His blood pressure has been extremely low and they have kept him on meds to even bring it to a semi normal BP. Yesterday, Rhonda, Delton, and Makayla was brought in to see him, which we all know right now if you’re getting in to see a Covid patient, it is not good. Monday, they will be doing an EEG on Mike to check for brain activity. There will be results late Tuesday evening, possibly Wednesday morning. If there is no activity, they have made the decision to turn the vent off and respect Uncle Mike’s decision on being an DNR. Aside from all of this, there are other severe health problems that have arose/gotten worse, and big, serious procedures that will have to be completed if he recovers from this. Our family asks for your thoughts and prayers, especially for Rhonda, who has been very sick with Covid at home as well, and Delton and Makayla. Also, the West Point Softball community was very close with Mike and I’m sure will have a tough time with all this as well. There is an abundance of medical bills that have accrued that insurance will not all be paying for, and Rhonda has not been back to work since November 3rd due to her having Covid, then Mike’s condition.
