For Christopher ‘Perry’ Rodriguez RIP

Donation protected
Christopher ‘Perry’ Rodriguez was born on June 29, 1954 in Porac, Pampanga to bereaved parents Catalino Rodriguez and Maria Rodriguez.  He was the fifth brother of nine siblings: three that have passed away; Letty, Maribel, Roy, and five that are living; Rey, Greg, Bona, Dolly, and Joyce.  As a young boy, Perry’s family realized that he had a calling to the priesthood and he was the second in his town to be admitted to Mater Boni Seminary in Pampanga.  After graduating High School at the seminary, he continued his studies at the University of Sto. Thomas  in Manila and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.  However, shortly after his father passed away he had to return to Pampanga to help with the family business and taught briefly at Angeles University.

Perry was hired and worked at Pepsi company where he was the youngest plant manager in Pampanga and Central Luzon.  Perry’s colorful life started after.  He soon met Dong and together they had two children, Kathy and MJ.  Throughout Perry’s life, he worked hard to build and create a comfortable life for his family.  With the help of his siblings, Perry traveled to London and then to the US where he settled down.  During this time, he longed for his family.  He took on various small jobs including work at a gasoline station and car rental company.  Through the years, he made his way up to become a sales manager for Ford and Mercedes Benz.  He was able to petition his two children who came to live with him in the Bay Area after they graduated from College.

While working at Mercedes Benz, Perry met and fell in love with Alice, and they spent the last 13 years of his life together.  They traveled the world and enjoyed spending time with each of their families and friends.  Perry spent time off work due to the pandemic with plans to return to work after he was fully vaccinated with the covid 19 vaccine.  During this time, he focused on improving his health and spent his time with his closest friends.  Unfortunately, while hiking at Sawyer Trail in Millbrae on March 19, 2021, he had a massive heart attack.  His medical team worked hard to keep him alive and he spent a week in a coma until he passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on the evening of March 27, 2021 at Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame.

Perry enjoyed traveling, eating out with family and friends, going to Starbucks with his group of ‘Starbucks boys’, playing golf, spending time outdoors, and watching Tagalog teleserye.  He will be remembered for his big and bright smile, enthusiasm for good food, jolly personality, and his deep faith in God.  He was the family’s Paddington bear.  Perry will truly be missed by all his family and friends.  As he goes back to God the Father, he leaves behind a legacy of a gentleman who is genuinely loved and respected by many.
