Chris was at a birthday party in Rowland Heights the night it happened. Police say 16-year-old Paul "Snoops" Kim, a gang member and his friends showed up to the party looking for trouble. After being stabbed multiple times, Chris died at the scene from the severity of his injuries on July 31, 2007.

Chris always lit up a room with just his smile the second he entered it. At only the age of 20 years old, a month shy from his 21st, he was gone. No one deserves or foresees this kind of tragedy. It has been a long 14 years and not a day passes by without thinking about him and how the justice system had failed us.

The police and investigators had their names, photo ids, and plenty of witnesses from the party, yet Chris’ case became cold. The murders have since fled and went on with their lives as we are still grieving.

Chris would have turned 35 today.
