On November 2nd, 2018, a man fatally shot his ex-wife before turning the gun on himself in front of the family's two children in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. We would like to raise funds for the children, so that they can be taken care of during what will be a difficult transition period. The funds we raise can go towards food and groceries, school supplies, clothes, shelter, doctors visits, and counseling services. We are setting the goal at $1000 and would like to raise this as soon as possible as this was an unpredictable event.
My name is Jack Kohoutek and I live in Chicago's Jefferson Park, 3 blocks from where the shooting took place. I live in the same neighborhood as the victim and survivors of the shooting. These funds will be given to the DCFS legal guardian of the survivors to be used on living expenses for the survivors or otherwise put in a trust in the name of the survivors. I currently have an in-person meeting with DCFS scheduled for 2/1/2019 at which I will personally deliver the check to the legal guardian.
