For Carl and Brenda's peace of mind

I'm doing this for my stepdad Carl, and my mother Brenda. This whole journey started when Carl had been struggling with severe hip pain from old sports injuries and had to get hip replacement surgery earlier this year. After the surgery, things were going pretty well with the healing process, but Carl had been suffering from quite a bit of back pain. Assuming it was from being off work and not being able to excercise much from the hip replacement, he kept shrugging it off. Not long after that, he found himself in the hospital in major pain, thinking he was passing kidney stones. It was that day that Carl was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. (Kidney cell cancer.) This Thursday, April 19th Carl will be undergoing surgery to completely remove his kidney.   Since Jaunuary of this year, because of Carl's hip surgery and now this battle with cancer, my mom and Carl have been under a lot of financial stress. EI and medical financial support only lasts so long and covers so much, and just the pain medications and anti nausea medications alone are adding up to so much so quick, along with all the other costs that have come with everything since early this year. They are newlyweds who just got married last July, and I just want to do whatever I can to help them out, because they would never feel comfortable asking for anything from anyone themselves and they deserve the help so much right now. There really is no goal amount here. Any amount at all would be very appreciated. Every cent helps and every cent would be appreciated more than words can say. Thanks so much for taking the time to read all of this. :) UPDATE: Hey guys! So Carl's surgery to remove the tumor and his kidney was last Thursday. It was supposed to be done lapriscopicly but there were complications. The tumor was apparently the size of a football by the time he was in for surgery, so they had to open him up quite a bit. He has been in the ICU since his surgery and has just got back to being on a regular diet. He has also started moving around little bits at a time now. That being said, we got some bad news yesterday. Carl's cancer has spread and he has three more tumors now on both of his lungs. The doctors will now need to plan their attack from here, but the plan so far is to operate on the one biggest tumor and hopefully shrink the others with medication. This will be a long haul, but Carl is one of the toughest guys I know and he's got so many amazing people around to back him up. Please share this update to help keep spreading the word.
