For Buddy, My Best Boy

Hi, I’m Dani—an unemployed flow artist and someone who’s been lucky enough to share a bond with the sweetest cat named Buddy.

Nearly a decade ago, a stray started wandering into my grandma’s yard. He never left, so she named him Buddy—and he truly lives up to the name. I met him when I was a teenager, and we instantly connected. Now, as I rent one of my grandma’s houses on the same property, he and I have grown even closer.

Recently, Buddy developed some scary symptoms—masses and black scabs on his nose. A couple nights ago, while he was curled up in my lap, his nose suddenly started bleeding heavily. It wouldn’t stop. I rushed him to the only 24-hour ER vet that would see him without charge.

They told me the heartbreaking news: while they can’t confirm without thousands in testing, it’s likely advanced nasal cancer. He may not have long left.

But right now, Buddy is inside with me. He’s safe, warm, and seems happier than ever. My only wish is to make these last days (or hopefully longer) as comfortable and loving as possible.

This GoFundMe is to help cover the things Buddy needs—comfortable bedding, good food, vet-recommended care supplies—and when the time comes, I want to be able to keep his ashes so he stays here, in the place that has always been his home.

Money raised will be exactly used for basic necessities ($100), cremation when needed ($200), and addition medications ($300). $500 will not cover everything he needs but it would be a great help to me so I can purchase these things for him.
