For Brooklyn’s Sake

For Brooklyn’s Sake…… Brooklyn Grace Galvan (known by many as simply “B”) is a sweet and spunky 5 year old that has filled many people’s lives with joy.

B is beautiful, smart, courageous, strong, happy, sassy, loving, caring….. adjectives to describe her could fill this page.

Unfortunately, B is also sick. On Sunday June 14th, B was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). While we have no doubt that Brooklyn will fight and beat this horrible cancer, we know it is going to be a long and tough battle. There will be a great expense on this journey and we appreciate any help you can offer for Jacob, Chara and Brooklyn. The money raised in this campaign will assist them with their normal everyday expenses as well as the unexpected expenses that have already begun and will continue to come. If you are unable to contribute financially, we simply ask that you pray for strength and healing for Brooklyn and all the people that love her very much.



A little context on “For Brooklyn’s sake”……

As many of you know, Brooklyn lives with her blended families. While separation and divorce are never easy for a child, it is our responsibility as adults to give our children the most stable and loving upbringing possible. This is the very definition of what Jacob and Chara do for Brooklyn. There is no arguing, there is no fighting, everything they do is “For Brooklyn’s Sake”. It is not unusual or uncommon (actually it’s a daily norm) for their families to spend dinner together, whether it’s at Jacob’s house, Chara’s house or going out to dinner together. They spend weekends together, they have parties together, everything is done together. There is no arguing about who’s weekend it is, who’s turn it is, etc. There is no jealousy from the spouse and significant other. And all this is done “For Brooklyn’s Sake”.
In the midst of life’s storms, goodness always comes. Our hope is that parents with separated families reading this strive to do the same. It is certainly not easy, but is achievable “For your child’s sake”. As Jacob and Chara will tell you, a crisis like they are currently experiencing comes like a thief in the night. When being together is nothing new, it makes going through these situations as blended families no different than going through it as a single family.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and monetary donations. It is times like these that show us the great compassion and humanity in people. While this battle will be tough, we look forward to the victory ahead and our chance to pay it forward to a family in need, “For their childs sake”.
