Bonnie - an incredible mom, devoted Kindergarten teacher, and unwavering friend—was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. As she learned about her diagnosis and began to understand her treatment options, her first thought was, “I need to be there for my kids, my own and my students.” That’s who she is.
For 23 years, Bonnie has poured her heart into the kindergarten classroom, 17 of those years at Sarah Milner Elementary. She’s the teacher who turns lessons into silly songs, comforts tearful little ones, and makes every child feel seen, safe, and loved. Families know how lucky they are to have her shaping their children’s earliest experiences.
At home, she is a dedicated single mom to Jake and McKenna, both now in college. She has worked tirelessly to support them, often putting her own needs last. And for her friends and community, Bonnie is the person who always shows up, no matter what.
Now she needs us.
The financial impact of cancer treatments will be significant. Medical bills, potential loss of income, and everyday household costs are already creating stress during an already overwhelming time. Bonnie has also donated plasma for years to supplement her modest teacher salary, something she can no longer do during treatment.
Your support will help cover:
-Medical expenses and insurance deductibles
-Lost income during treatment and recovery
-Ongoing household and family needs including supporting her two college kids out of state
Our hope is to relieve the financial pressure so Bonnie can focus fully on healing and choose the care that’s best for her, without the constant worry of how to afford it. Bonnie has spent her life caring for others: her students, her children, her friends, and her community. Now it’s our turn to care for her.
Thank you for donating, sharing her story, or keeping Bonnie and her family in your thoughts.
