For Bella: Fundraising for greyhounds in need

My name is Sapphire, and I am raising funds for Greyhound Pet's Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding homes for retired racing greyhounds in the Pacific Northwest. I will be matching all donations.

On August 8th, 2022, we had to send our Sweet Retired Racer, Bella, over the rainbow bridge. She came down with a mast cell tumor, and in two weeks it began to degenerate rapidly. Surgery was not an option, and she was already in so much pain and discomfort. We knew it was her time and we could not be selfish. She went in peace. With a belly full of treats and in our arms. Surrounded by love.

Bella came to us via Fast Friends in SoCal. Bella spent the last 3+ years with us in LA. Everywhere we went we heard what a beautiful and sweet girl she was. She spent her days loving the couches, numerous beds, zoomies, stuffies, treats, and cuddles (but only on her terms) we gave to her. We moved up to Seattle last month, where she experienced wide open (fenced in) fields, lake life, and bunnies + deer galore. She spent many play dates with other Fast Friends greyhounds. In return, she loved us with her full heart.

As we seek to process our immense grief, we want to honor her memory and legacy with donations to Greyhound Pet's Inc. I've spent the last month and half processing my grief by giving back to these sweet dogs. Little did I know how much they would give me in return.
