Our entire life, our mom has always been our strongest support system. As a single mother, providing for her kids was not the easiest especially in Hawaii, but she always found a way. Even when she was struggling, our mom always had a smile on her face, cracked jokes, and was the light in our lives. She always puts us first, cared for us, and loved everyone so deeply, and respected everyone. Our mom is the type of person that if she only had $5.00 and you ask her for that $5.00 she would give it to you even if it left her with nothing. That goes to show her characteristic of always putting everyone's needs first over her own. Like how we needed her, she now needs us. Now is the time for us (her children) to give her the best, as a gift in return for all the love and support she continues to pour onto us.
As of right now, our mom is fighting stage 4 breast cancer, which spread to her bones and is slowly spreading to the rest of her body. She is currently in the hospital in critical condition with the expectancy of her never leaving. All of us, her children: Christina, Joy, JR, and Angela are doing our best in making sure that our mom is receiving the best care possible.
Our mom is 58 years old, which is still considered young. Her critical condition currently is something that was unexpected for our family. The uncertainty of when is something that our family needs to prepare for. If we reach our goal as soon as possible it will greatly help us, her kids, ensure that when the time does come we have everything prepared and planned for our mom. Seeing that Hawaii is expensive, anything helps our Ohana especially in the circumstances surrounding the Covid pandemic. Any contribution will truly help our family reduce any financial burden that we may incur trying to give our mom the best we can and what she deserves. Although we can never come close to repay her for all the sacrifices she made for us, doing this for her is our way of trying to do so.
