Fundraising for Aunty Favour
Donation protected
Dear friends, thanks for visiting this Gofundme page. In May 2018, my sister-in-law, Mrs Alice Favour Nnagbo was diagnosed with stage II classical Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. She has since started a course of chemotherapy at the Lakeshore Cancer Centre Lagos.
As most of you know, cancer treatments are extremely costly, let alone for a small-scale business lady who hadn't worked months up to her diagnosis and ever since. Her close family and friends are 'chipping in' to help cover treatment costs, but this is unsustainable due to the frequency of treatments and escalating costs. So far over 4 million Naira has been spent on tests and chemotherapy.
The journey is far from over, unfortunately. Currently, Aunty Alice is scheduled to start radiotherapy later this week at a South-African-owned facility based at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). This will cost approximately 800,000 Naira, excluding accommodation for 5 weeks (~8000 Naira per day). After this, she will start another course of chemotherapy.
To assist with the costs of Aunty Alice's treatment, I have decided to start a campaign to raise some funds. This is pretty urgent as her family is struggling to raise the required funds for her radiotherapy and subsequent treatments. My goal is to use this channel to raise at least 5000 CDN that can cover immediate costs and further chemotherapy to an extent. I will be utterly grateful if you can donate any amount to fund Aunty Alice's treatment. Every penny will count!
Merry Christmas and God Bless!
Best wishes,
Isobel.
