We never thought we’d have to write something like this, and we wish more than anything that we didn’t have to.
For those who may not know, our mom has been fighting stage 4 cervical cancer with quiet strength and incredible courage. Over the past several months, she’s undergone surgery as well as treatment at City of Hope.
But her cancer is aggressive. We’ve watched her grow weaker, more tired, and more worn down by the effects of her cancer and the treatment. After much thought and with all the strength in her heart, she has made the decision to stop treatment so she can spend the time she has left in peace.
Our mom has always loved in her own way, with action, presence, and a heart that always puts her family first. She’s a daughter, a sister, a mother of two and a Nana to 2 grandbabies, who love her deeply and light up just being near her. She has always been our constant. Our steady. Our strength.
Now, our hope is to give her what she’s always given us: comfort, dignity, and care.
We are raising funds to bring in an in home caregiver who can help us make sure she’s able to remain in her own home, surrounded by the people she loves most. We want her to have peace. To rest. To hear the sounds of her grandkids nearby. To know she is safe, and deeply loved.
If you’re able to donate, please know that every dollar goes directly toward her care and comfort during this time. Any amount, big or small, will help lighten the weight we’re carrying as a family.
We’re also asking for your prayers for peace, for strength, and for time. Thank you for loving her, for supporting us, and for helping us give her the most beautiful final chapter possible.
With all our love,
Candice & Danielle
