Hello everyone and hoping this finds you well,
It is with sadness and gratitude that I begin this message.
Last month, while celebrating the completion of his master's degree in Las Vegas, our cousin Alejandro suffered a terrible accident. He fell from the 10th floor of a hotel and miraculously, his fall was cushioned by a canvas roof and a planter. From that day on he has been fighting for his life in a hospital bed. With the help of a wonderful team of doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, he has beaten the odds. He is giving strong signals of wanting to live and has begun to wake up from a coma.

Alejandro is my cousin; he is a brother to Diego, Lorena, Sofia, Hector & Emilia, a son to Monica and Hector, he is a boyfriend to Pau, a friend to many, and a force of light in this world. He is one of the biggest-hearted, friendliest, and caring humans I have ever met. Everyone that knows him would agree with me that he is the light and the heart of any room. He brings bundles of joy, jokes, and smiles wherever he goes.
He recently finished his Master's Degree in Business Analytics from one of the best universities in Mexico all while working hard to support himself and his family. When I saw him last in December, he spent our short time together telling me about his dreams and plans for the future. He spoke enthusiastically of many things that went over my head since he is a lot smarter than me, and yet one thing was evident: his passion and determination were strong.
Although we are still having a hard time accepting this tragedy. We are certain that Alejandro and his family will stay together, heal, and continue to be a gift to us all. For now, we shall continue to rally around them because during difficult times, the biggest gift is each other.
As you all can imagine - Alejandro's medical bills have skyrocketed to over 2 million dollars. His family has been by his side for the past month sacrificing their jobs and income and for now one of the things that we can do for them is to try to bring community to hopefully alleviating some of the financial stress and struggles this has brought upon them.
We are grateful to our community and we thank you in advance for keeping us in your thoughts and if possible, for your support.

For Alejandro - We got your back!
