Hi,
My name is Deirdre. I am fundraising for my nephew, Jack.
The day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, he was diagnosed with T-ALL, an acute onset luekemia. The following day, Saturday, he was admitted to the hospital. The next day he was in the ICU on dialysys. No one can wrap their heads around that trauma. He is on the cusp of beginning to step out into his life.
He turned 19 this past October. He just got his drivers license. He is just 19. He is in the hospital today, already scooped up by cancer and all that goes with it.
He will fall in love.
He will find out what it is to matter to many through this unbelievable tragedy.
He will learn what he can tolerate and what he should never have to.
He will know the magnitude of compassion, and of stillness.
He will learn to tie a tie.
He will fall in and out of love with his body again, and again, and again.
He will learn how to trust himself and his resilience.
He will heal and we will heal with him.
Help me, help Jack. Give like he belongs to all of us.
Give, becuase cancer does not discriminate.
Because he needs us and we need him. He is the arrow that may quiver now, but will be as steady and true to all that his life holds, and we can honor now.
Please, make this fundraiser speak volumes about our Hope and His Love.
I promise that I will keep you updated.
I promise he is worth every penny and all of your threads!!!
Thank you,
Deirdre
