In December, I’ll be walking my dog 100km — one careful, determined step at a time — as part of my recovery from a recent hip replacement in memory of a very special friend Elaine.
A friendship of 35 years — we raised our babies side-by-side, shared the highs and the hard bits, and were always there for each other. A life lived in parallel, full of laughs, support, and unshakable love.
in 2007 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and kicked that ass. However it returned as we went into lockdown , this time as terminal metastatic cancer. She passed away surrounded by her loving family in September 2024.
I’m raising money to benefit METUPUK, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that meant so much to Elaine.
METUPUK is the only metastatic breast cancer patient advocacy group in the UK. It pushes and promotes issues relating to secondary/metastatic breast cancer.

Its aim is to downgrade metastatic breast cancer (MBC) from an incurable disease to a chronic illness and to support MBC patients to gain access to the best medicines to prolong and improve their quality of life.
