Hi everyone, if you don't know..people call me KP.
I never thought I’d be in this position, let alone writing something like this, but after a lot of thought I’m reaching out for help.
Football has always been a huge part of my life. It’s more than just a game to me – it’s my passion, my escape, and a massive part of who I am. Being on the pitch, training, competing, and sharing that with teammates brings me real joy and keeps me physically and mentally strong.
Unfortunately, I’ve suffered a serious ACL injury whilst competing in the Womens FA Cup and it requires reconstructive surgery. Without it, I won’t be able to return to football properly or safely.
While the NHS does offer this surgery, the current waiting times are extremely long, likely many months or even longer. Waiting that long risks further damage, a much harder recovery, delays in my future career aspirations of joining the fire service and even the possibility of never getting back to playing the sport I love.
Private ACL surgery would allow me to get the operation much sooner, start proper rehab immediately, giving myself the best possible chance of returning to football, an active lifestyle and my career. As you know, the womens game does not carry any where near the same amount of money as the mens game so as a tier 5 player, I still need to work a full time job to be able to make ends meet - I'm currently a Special Educational Needs TA, aspiring to become a FireFighter which will not be possible any time soon without surgery.
However, the cost of surgery, physiotherapy, and recovery is more than I can manage alone.
That’s why I’m setting up this GoFundMe.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards:
- ACL reconstruction surgery
- Post-operation physiotherapy and rehabilitation to get back on the pitch
- Resources/equipment to help me get back to myself both mentally and physically.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much. Your support, encouragement, and kindness will genuinely make a huge difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping me take a big step towards recovery. I can’t wait for the day I’m back playing the sport I love along with hopefully the career I aspire to help others.
❤️⚽
