Senior Vanderbilt Linebacker Anfernee Orji has joined forces with Big Man Big Heart to come to the aid of a Vanderbilt family member that is experiencing a difficult time. When Anfernee heard that Vandy's defensive coach, Greer Martini's girlfriend- Laura Fisher -was in a tragic accident on January 31st, 2022, every instinct inside him compelled him to STEP UP and FILL THE GAP. A former Notre Dame linebacker and a graduate of the Mendoza School of Business at Notre Dame, Coach Martini had recently become a part of the Vanderbilt FOOTBALL FAMILY and had completed his first season on the Defensive staff when Laura's accident occurred. They were both completely floored by the tremendous outpouring of support and love for Laura when she suffered devastating injuries and was hospitalized for over two weeks due to a terrible car accident. The accident occurred between two vehicles at the corner of Charlotte Avenue and 42nd Avenue North in Nashville as Laura was working in a tent set up by her employer - a start-up gym - to sign up new members just outside the entrance to the Turnip Truck health food store. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles struck her body, tossing her into the air.
Anfernee Oriji and Dillan Gibbons both had a connection to Laura and Greer. Dillan is a former Notre Dame offensive lineman and also a graduate of the Mendoza School of Business who played with Greer for the Fighting Irish and is now the starting left guard for Florida State and the founder of Big Man Big Heart. The two have paired up to use their Name Image and Likeness to help Laura with all of the medical expenses she has incurred as a result of her injuries from this accident. They know that they are STRONGER TOGETHER and want to support Laura as she is FOOTBALL FAMILY. Therefore, they implore you to DONATE what you can to support Laura. Please SHARE Laura's story with as many people as possible to garner support for this 27-year-old young woman if you can't DONATE. All funds raised will go directly to Laura to help her pay her past and future medical expenses and to assist her with her other living expenses while she is unable to work.

Laura has a remarkably positive attitude and is tackling all of the challenges she faces with unparalleled determination and positivity. As a result of the accident, she was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Hospital for over two weeks. She had emergency surgery where trauma surgeons set two plates into her fractured left arm. Laura also had a concussion, collapsed lungs, a broken clavicle that required surgery, several broken ribs on both sides, and fractures in her spine. Her left knee had a deep laceration which required surgery and stitches. Tragically, Laura also sustained 14 fractures in her beautiful face and has endured two reconstructive surgeries thus far. She also fractured her front teeth, necessitating extensive dental work in the upcoming weeks. She is, understandably, dealing with PTSD following this accident.
Laura Fisher has amassed close to $800,000.00 in medical expenses. At the time of the accident, she was working as a performance coach. Fitness was her passion. Because of her injuries, she is not sure that she will ever get back to the level of fitness required for her to train and instruct as she once did. Unfortunately, her employer did not have workers' compensation coverage at the time of this accident. That has placed Laura in a very precarious financial situation. She does not have the financial means to pay her past medical expenses and has to pay out-of-pocket for dental work and other necessary medical treatment that is essential for her recovery.

Anfernee and Dillan would love to help Laura in a BIG way by raising as much money as they can to help her with her financial needs so she can remain focused on her FIGHT to recover from all of her serious injuries; before her next football season cheering for the Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium! Please DONATE and SHARE so that we can show BIG LOVE for LAURA!! It is our hope to see an outpouring of LOVE, PRAYERS, and SUPPORT from the Vanderbilt, Nashville, Notre Dame, and Florida State football communities and ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Laura and Coach Martini are FOOTBALL FAMILY, and they appreciate your SUPPORT, PRAYERS, and LOVE more than you will ever know.
