Foot Reattachment and Recovery Project.

Okay so... I lead a fairly haphazardous life, but this one takes the cake.

on Sept 10th, I was in an equine related riding accident, messing around, no saddle, I got thrown, in a wierd freak landing, MY LEFT FOOT WAS TORN OFF.

I looked down and all I saw was a stump where my foot should have been. The pain was so extreme, I could only look at it once, I could see bone sticking out. . Behind my eyes I saw neon tiger stripes. I screamed for help. Like a dumbass I was out alone and with no phone. So it was a while.

I was found by my friends, EMTs arrived a bit later, airlifted to Evansville from Olney, to the ER at Deconness hospital. After being out under, I woke up with a foot that was REATTACHED. Even able to wiggle my toes (my God, I'm glad it's 2024!) I've been laying low, I had two surgeries, and it's going to be a long road to recovery. I ran 3 miles the morning it happened. I am already in good shape and I will walk again. I've been doing physical rehabilitation and getting around on a walker. I cannot put any weight on it for another six weeks, full recovery in about four months.

I've had amazing help from my friends, people checking in on me and getting groceries and care for my pets. Damn am I blessed with great people in my life, the feeling of community and friendship. My job and coworkers have all been understanding and kind, I am particularly thankful to have a vocation that keeps amazing people near me.

It's still so fucking wierd tho, getting a significant part of your body ripped off in a moment's notice. I'm sure I'll be fine tho.
