Fools' Endeavour (A Short Film)

Hi!

Ally and Dan here. We're back again, only this time with a little more knowledge, a whole heap of filmmaking memories and our short film, Ransack, to show for our efforts.

We've also launched our production house, Not No... Yes! Productions, just to make it feel even more official.

And we're making new films in 2025, starting with Fools' Endeavour, a dark comedy satire of male behaviour, ego and pride. To make it even more fun, we've set it in the place where it is mostly like to occur - a pub.

FOOLS' ENDEAVOUR - OVERVIEW

LOGLINE

When two lifelong rivals compete over the attention of a young woman in a pub, they must find ways of deciding who gets the right to approach her, but bitter rivalries and excessive amounts of lager aids the growing absurdity of their tactics, leading to a gruesome end.

OUR TEAM

Writers & Directors - Ally Kirkham & Dan Millen

Back for another go at directing (and proudly so). We’ve learned so much from last time and we’re hoping to build on the special moments from Ransack with a different kind of dark comedy.

Producer - Catherine Devine

A performer at heart, and one of the stars of our last film, Ransack, she has acted in a variety of stage and screen projects over the last 10 years.

Now she aims to put her other skills to use and keep us organised. She is excited to work hard and relentlessly to find us a location, a crew and will help us enjoy a smooth and productive shoot.

Director of Photography - Jayne Combremont

Back with her team for a second outing with us, Jayne is now a graduate of MetFilm School, London, and brings a sharp eye, a warm presence on set and some wonderful ideas to the screen through the lens.

We're delighted to have her back on our team.

BUDGET

Any generous donations will enable our team to complete this project. We are very careful and considerate with any financial contributions and the money will help with filmmaking elements such as location fee, equipment and casting.
