A Lifeline for the Vulnerable – But We’re at Breaking Point

Hi, my name is Mimi, and for the past five years, I’ve been running Food With Love, making sure that the most vulnerable in our community don’t go hungry.

Through rain, snow, and blistering heat, we have been cooking 200–300 meals a day—without fail. All from a small garden tent.

For years, the Meals on Wheels service has been unreliable, leaving many elderly, disabled, and housebound people struggling to feed themselves. COVID only made things worse, highlighting the desperate need for home-cooked, nutritious meals. So, we stepped in to replace the service.

But, we are more than just food; we are a lifeline for:

For five years, we have made it work, rebuilding our outdoor setup over and over again whenever the weather tears it apart. But this is not sustainable.

We Are at Breaking Point

We simply cannot keep running a 24/7 food service from a garden tent.

It’s exhausting, and we are running out of options.

We Have a Solution

We’re not asking for luxury. We’re simply moving from the back garden to a small shopfront at the front of our home.

✅ We’ll provide a safe, warm space for our elderly and disabled service users.

✅ We’ll run a self-sustaining model—so we no longer rely solely on donations.

✅ We’ll reduce the financial burden—we personally cover many costs ourselves.

This is not a huge leap—it’s a small but crucial step to survival.

If we don’t act now, Food With Love may not be here for much longer. The people we serve cannot cook for themselves. They have nowhere else to turn.

We are the only charity in the UK delivering free hot meals directly to the vulnerable in our community.
