FoodStamps Short Film

We are raising money to help cover the costs of shooting a proof of concept short film to ultimately secure the big budget necessary to shoot our feature length film, FoodStamps. Based on the book," Dear Nikki" FoodStamps is the true story of Shannon Ousley's childhood growing up in the American Midwest during the early 2000s. The  story focuses on three Black teenagers navigating adolescence in their white, affluent suburban community after their drug kingpin mother vanishes.
