The Community Food Bank needs ongoing financial support to cover increased rent expenses. We must raise an additional $5,000 monthly in 2016 to feed the people in our community who can't make it until their next paycheck.
We hope to inspire at least 200 people to contribute $25 monthly to feed local families in need. EVERY donation is much appreciated.
In 2015, we provided 18,925 Mesa County Residents with food to last their families 2-3 days at a time. About 35% were children. We are accessible 4 days each week to anyone in Mesa County who needs food. With our resources and purchasing power, it costs about $25 to feed a whole family for 2-3 days. More informtion is on our website at www.foodbankgj.org.
Additional capital items that could greatly improve our operations are a walk-in refrigerator and used forklift. These items would cost about $50,000.
The Community Food Bank was started in 1978 and has become a collaborative effort among religious organizations and human service supporters in Mesa County. We are a 501c3 non-profit, and although we receive some funding through grants, we are highly dependent on donations from regular people who want to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Please help.
