On August 12, 2018 (AfriCan), the Ontario Delegation of young leaders to the African Youth & Governance Conference in Ghana will pay a one day visit to the Buduburam Refugee Camp where there are more than 20,000 refugees to provide food and clean drinking water for children for a day. This can only be possible with your help through donations. The delegation is a group of 15 McMaster University students mostly of African descent who are enthusiastic about building understanding about issues affecting the African continent ad visioning how they can be involved in a meaningful way. Every donation counts, thank you for helping us. All funds raised will be used to buy food and clean drinking water for young children. Buduburam is a refugee camp located 44 kilometers (27 mi) west of Accra, Ghana. Opened by the UNHCR in 1990, the camp is home to more than 12,000 [1] refugees from Liberia who fled their country during the First Liberian Civil War (1989–1996) and the Second Liberian Civil War (1999–2003), in addition to refugees from Sierra Leone who also escaped from the ravages of their civil war (1991–2001). The camp is served by Liberian and international NGO groups and volunteer organizations.
