Food for schools educating orphans in Uganda

Introduction:

Hello, my name is Michael. I'm raising funds for an organization (Uganda Nutrition Feeding Project-Mentor Volunteers) that runs 4 schools for orphans in Uganda. Details of how this will work are at the end of the page.

Message from the organization: (From Kayemba Enock )

Uganda Nutrition Feeding Project-Mentor Volunteers has four Schools of which three are primary schools and one secondary school; a total of 1700 children.

Our organization works to help children from very poor families, children stricken with poverty, orphans, abused, tortured, war, diseased, mistreated, neglected, abandoned and children whose parents are in prison.

This short video shows our project’s work in Uganda.

We are fundraising to help provide food and resources to help these children to survive. We will also use some of these funds to buy more land for planting food (both for the children to eat, and for them to learn how to grow).

So, first of all: why am I doing this instead of the school itself doing this? There is a list of countries that gofundme.com can do financial transactions in, Uganda is not in that list. They have provided this page documenting that their process for this situation is that someone living in a country that they do support (that would be me, living in the United States) can receive the money, and forward it to the final recipients using third party tools.

Obviously, this is a little Yuck. You don't know me. You don't know that I will forward the money (I will, but... yes its messy).

About Kayemba Enock : while I and other people I have spoken to have had video calls with our contact where he walks us around the grounds of the school, we have not actually been to the school ourselves. We have received an email from one of the email addresses on this Contact Us page informing us that he is who he claims.
