Help the Romo Family

1/19/21. My parents are startled and woken up frantically by my sister telling them to get out of the house and it’s on fire.

With no time to grab anything but a coat and shoes, my parents, sister and nephew made it out safely and waited for firefighters to arrive. 

Once the fire was officially put out. They were able to re-enter to see the damage that had been caused. Aside from the ceiling, the house was still in pretty fair condition. Granted they lost and unknown amounts of memories and photos and all my moms beloved Christmas decorations. (If you know my mom, you KNOW. She is all about her Christmas stuff. With teddy bears dating back to 1992 that she had been collecting since I was born.)

Due to this, they have been displaced. Leaving them in a very vulnerable state. Yes, eventually they will find temporary house. Yes, they are lucky to be unharmed, but just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse....Looters broke in last night and stripped the last of what could have been saved. Including a room dedicated to my dad’s beloved OAKLAND Raider Memorabilia, of items that have been collected since he was a kid.

We have been trying to take everything out that we could. And I know what some of you be thinking...”why didnt you grab that stuff in the first place if its so important.”

Truth is, until you have something like this happen to you, you dont know how you’re going to react. You panic. You dont know what to grab and you’re given very little time for anything.

My parents have lived in Dixon for the past 22 years. They are the original homeowners and one of the last original families on their block. They are dedicated volunteers to the Sacramento National Valley Cemetery and are member of their Support Committee;  my Dad, The President and my Mom, theTreasurer. They dedicate their free time to helping others and are never the ones to ask for help, so I will ask for them.

This will go towards food, bathroom necessities, clothes etc.
