Food and Clothing Drive for Brooklyn Kids

As a special educator, I encounter students with many different needs each day and I support them as they try to overcome their academic challenges. Increasingly, over the past few years, our students' needs extend far beyond learning disabilities. More families in our school community are living in shelters or well below the poverty line, and they struggle to meet their children's basic needs of clean clothing and adequate food. I am raising money to create a food and clothing pantry in our school. The room will contain both new and used items including non-perishable food staples and clothing items such as winter coats, hats, sneakers, pants, shirts, backpacks, and school supplies. I hope to provide an opportunity for kids to "go shopping” for things they need as they may not have this opportunity very often. Please donate if you can. Every little bit helps.
