Let's develop Cazale together

On Thursday, June 26, 1952, in small province of Haiti called Cazale, an extraordinary woman named Kercina Nelson was born; daughter of Mélicie Dorcélian and Duroseau Nelson. Since at a tender age of 7, she has been watching over her mother, and younger siblings since her mother was always sick. The Cazale event in 1969 pushed her away from her province to live in Cabaret. She feared nothing because she was a valiant woman who likes to work hard and believes in independence. She then moved to Port-au-Prince, where she continued to work until she achieved all her goals.
Kercina Nelson, known to all in the name of Manmie Klè, is the mother of four daughters and nine grandchildren. It was not easy to educate her children because life did not go as planned, but her
strength and determination made her win. She was a very positive person, a good mother. All her children and grandchildren have many reasons to be proud of her.
With all her success in Port-Au-Prince, she found it necessary for all the people of Cazale, specially the children to have a taste of good life. She would travel to her native place many times in a year to share necessities and comfort with her comrades. In special occasions like St. Valentine, Christmas, Easter and Saint Michel Archangel celebration, she would spend them there. To the Cazale people Ti Klè was a leader, adviser, listener, and an official without a title.
• If today one of us would like to talk about someone who knows how to welcome people, we would talk about her.
• If you want to talk about a woman who knows how to make a tasty and healthy meal, it would be her again.
• If any of us would like to talk about a sensitive person who loves people and who enjoys taking care of others, it would be our Ti Klè.
• If any of us would look for a role model, a strong woman, Ti Klè would be that model.
Manmie Klè was the head of her family, the mother of all those who did not have one, everybody’s nurse, especially those who had no one to look after them. She was the one who kept the family together, she did not know any social rank. She treated everyone the same way, without grudges, without pride and was always forgiving.
Klè, Manmi Klè, Ti Klè, is a person we will never forget, even the people who spoke to her once and especially her family. We cannot forget this woman. Nobody can replace her or fill the gap left in us.
As part of the works started by Mrs. Kercina NELSON, our mission is to continue her actions by creating the “Ti Klè FOUNDATION” to supervise the inhabitants of our city Cazale near Germain. That is: children, youth and adults in difficulty.
Therefore, we solicit the maximum of people to follow us in our steps and our works, to develop this city where there is a rich history and little known of all.
