Folx on Spokes - Help fund our dreams & goals!

Donation protected
A few months back over 120 individuals spent time planning a 1000 mile trip to ride their bike in Alaska. They all submitted their plans, talking about their life and experiences with cycling, as an application for a scholarship. Out of all those who applied, 11 finalists were selected. 11 amazingly different individuals, who had allowed themselves to be vulnerable, were gearing up for a possible trip of a lifetime! Two finalists were awarded the scholarship, and a few others were granted funds to make their trips happen. This fund is being created to help the remaining finalists achieve their dreams.

All of the applicants had bold stories and grand visions for how they could make the most out of this trip.

Zoraya, an environmental consultant turned local activist, is looking to remind herself and others that melanin finding rest and joy in biking unceded lands is also an act of rebellion.

Kelly, a US Army veteran, wants to bring awareness to MST, PTSD, and the healing powers of cycling while riding through rural America on the rails to trails network.

Darlene, an avid outdoor enthusiast, wants to utilize her story as a springboard to inspire women and others that through personal hardships, one can be resilient and maintain a positive outlook by re-cultivating the childhood seeds of curiosity and wonder in the form of a fun scavenger hunt.

Shadow has been living on the road with a touring bike as their default mode of transportation for a few years. Their goal is to ride every Adventure Cycling and bikepacking route in the so-called USA while international travel is still on hold for 1-2 years.

These finalists talked about how they only needed some panniers, a tent, or even just some cycling shorts and other gear in order to make their trip a success. So although they may not be able to get to Alaska, we as a community, can help these inspiring individuals with the items to make their goals become reality!
