Hi, my name is Mashai.

I’m a mother of three, a doula, and a community organizer based in Baltimore. My work centers on supporting families—especially Black families—through healing, storytelling, and creating resources that help us navigate stress, separation, and rebuilding.

I was recently selected by Canva to attend Canva Create 2026 (out of thousands of applicants), and I’ll be documenting the full journey—from preparation to in-person experience in LA.

I’m currently partnering with a small number of aligned brands to support travel, accommodations, and storytelling production for this experience.

For me, this is more than just an event—it’s a turning point.

I’m building a journey called “Following the Sun,” where I’m choosing joy, growth, and expansion not just for myself, but for my children and the families I serve.

Through this experience, I’ll be able to create more impactful tools, content, and resources that support real families in real ways.

Right now, the only thing standing in the way is travel and lodging.

I’m raising funds to cover:

• Flights

• Safe and comfortable lodging for me and my children

• Transportation and basic travel needs
